What Does True Repentance Look Like? – pt. 2
This past Sunday we continued our study of 2 Corinthians in chapter 7. Due to time we didn’t get to finish our conversation on what true repentance looks like in our lives. Often times we feel the Spirit’s conviction over a specific sin and yet, we ignore His prodding and before we know it we go years and never deal with the sin. Paul addresses in 2 Corinthians 7:11-15 what it looks like to be completely broken over sin in our lives. One of the elements of a heart that has truly repented is to be eager to make things right with those we have hurt. When God gets a hold of our heart, we will go to any length to restore the relationships we have damaged with the sin in our life that we tolerated for too long. May we all have a longing in our heart to have a conscience that is sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading so that we don’t live our life justifying and making excuses for sin that we know has a stronghold in our life. Please take time this weekend before you come to church to ask God to reveal areas in your life that have become Satan’s playground. Prepare your heart to come to the altar and enjoy the grace your God freely gives.
In Christ,
