James 5:7-11
This week we will continue our series through the book of James as we study James 5:7-11. We see how God has called us to patience as we wait on Him, regardless of our current life circumstances. He calls us to be steadfast in Him – resolute, firm, unmoving – knowing that He is at work. This brings to mind Psalm 1:3, “He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” While we wait on God, even when we cannot see it, He is at work. He shapes and molds us into Christ’s image, spiritually strengthening us in Him. He creates in us a life that is not only spiritually healthy on its own, but that resonates spiritual life and vibrancy to those who are around. In the waiting, let us rejoice in Him!
